“Hi, I am Rae – a queer adventure who believes travel should be open to everyone.”
While acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community is growing, queer voices are still often marginalized across the globe. We believe that everyone should have the freedom to travel, regardless of their identity of who they love.
However, as an LGBTQ+ traveller, it’s important to consider some key tips to ensure your safety and make your journey truly memorable.
Traveling as a queer person often feels like no different than any other traveller’s experience. We do everything the same as the next person, however, when you’re with your partner, you want to express affection openly, to embrace being a couple without hesitation.
“It’s in these small, everyday moments of affection that the difference becomes clear – this opens is what can set us apart from other travellers.”
There’s another layer of complexity for trans travelers, especially when their gender identity doesn’t match the one on their official documents. Imagine the anxiety that builds while navigating customs, security and even just simply checking into your accommodation.
That’s where safety comes into play, and why this queer travel blog exists. The goal of Q Travel Blog is to foster connection and safety for all of us who are part of this global community – making friends, meeting like-minded people, and enjoying travel in an open, welcoming and safe environment.
Sharing our queer travel journey is incredibly important. When we tell our stories, we give visibility to our experience, helping to create a more inclusive and understanding world. By amplifying queer travel stories, we’re not only celebrating diversity but also breaking down barriers and challenging stereotypes that exist globally.
